HillVets Foundation

HillVets was founded three years ago and has since become a nationally recognized non-profit organization. HillVets empowers veterans by fostering and building a community of influence, while proactively seeking initial and advancement opportunity on their behalf. 

Specifically, HillVets focuses on empowering Washington, D.C.-area Veterans who work in or seek careers in government and business. With an all-volunteer organization and no significant funding to this point, we have created a strong infrastructure and community that empowers veterans to help others and themselves in progressing up the career ladder.

We are excited to join Razoo to seek funding for HillVets House, our paid Congressional fellowship program exclusively for veterans. 

Capitol Hill experience is largely considered a key component and invaluable experience for a long-term career in government and politics. Currently, less than 3% of staff members working for the United States Congress are military veterans. As hundreds of veterans continue to come to the Washington, D.C.-area, they are often frustrated by an inability to quickly build an adequate network and open the initial doors necessary for long-term success. 

As such, HillVets House will provide the first premiere access point for veterans wishing to continue their service in unique roles across all government agencies and branches. Just as Goldman Sachs, General Electric, and Starbucks have done for their industries; HillVets will step up, and carry the torch where the government cannot, due to fiscal and regulatory constraints. We will be the solution to push unique veteran talent outside of normal agencies like the VA and DoD - we will bring tomorrow's leadership into offices all across Washington, D.C.
