Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation

A nonprofit organization

The Lansdowne Theater is a beloved historic landmark in the heart of Lansdowne's central business district.  Built in 1927 as an opulent movie palace, patrons enjoyed the building's ornate Spanish revival style design until an electrical fire forced its closure in 1987.

After a decade and a half of hard work and with critical support from state, federal, and local government, private foundations and hundreds of individual donors, we have at last secured the funds needed to complete restoration and reopening of the theater.  The Lansdowne will once again welcome patrons in Fall 2025 as a 1,280-seat concert venue, spurring economic development in Lansdowne and beyond and bringing jobs, improved access to the arts and educational opportunities to the surrounding region.

The restoration of the theater will be completed within the next month.  The restoration has received high praise for its details and functionality as a regional concert venue. A schedule of concerts for this fall will be released shortly.   Local independent concert promoter BRE Presents will operate the theater, bringing world-class performers to our stage, while the Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation (HLTC) will remain the building's caretaker, ensuring that The Lansdowne remains a vibrant, functional space for many generations to come.

Your donation to the HLTC through Delco Gives will help us keep our history alive while preparing for the future.
