Historic Reno Preservation Society

HRPS was established in 1997.  The organization is known for its walking tours and educational programs but we have expanded by offering yearly Neighborhood Preservation Fund grants to provide property owners with assistance in rehabilitating historic buiildings in an authentic manner. The purpose of the Fund is to improve our wonderful Reno neighborhoods by assisting those who need an extra little help.  Within the past five years, HRPS has awarded 30 grants to help paint, repair, and rehabilitate older homes, businesses, and churches.  Part of the Nevada Big Give funds will go to this program.

HRPS also offers free public historic and preservation programs and sponsors a Fourth Grade program and bus tour of historic Reno for local schools. 

HRPS is a community leader when it comes to informing the public about our historic resources and will continue to be the leading source for years to come.
