Whether you live in our neighborhood or are just interested in history- Welcome!

West Floral Heights is over 110 years old and we are very proud of the heritage in each of our homes. First established in 1909, Floral Heights was named for Mrs. J.A. Kemp (Flora) because they owned the entire block on Grant between 9th and 10th Streets. Their spacious 3-story home was surrounded by vast open spaces and fences. During WWI, pilots from Call Field used it as a guide. Now, their home is gone, but the neighborhood around it grew into a haven of quiet tree-lined streets and stately homes with wide porches. Most of the homes were built before 1930 and many still maintain the old servant's quarters in the back of their property. This peaceful neighborhood is a rich and lasting part of our city's history. Our goal is to preserve that history for future generations.

As an Association, we gather often to assist each other with projects, work to keep our neighborhood clean, celebrate different flag days, enjoy each others company, and even host seasonal events. We believe in neighbors helping neighbors. That's why we are raising funds for safer sidewalks this year. Our goal is to replace the damaged sidewalks within our community so that our neighbors can safely walk without fear of tripping over crumbling concrete. Please join us as we work to reach our goal of $10,000 this year with Texoma Gives.
