Home for Good Dog Rescue Inc

Since the founding of Home for Good Dog Rescue in 2010, we have rescued over 9,500 dogs from deplorable and dangerous environments in the South, including high-kill shelters, hoarding situations, and abusive conditions, such as in-breeding and puppy mills, neglect, and abuse. We focus on rescuing dogs from areas with considerable populations of unwanted dogs, high rates of euthanasia, and a significant need for animal rescue assistance.  Our rescues are all too often found in dumpsters, living on deadly outdoor chains, wandering on dirty, dusty roads, or in hoarding situations. 

Once a dog comes into our care at our Wellness Center in Aiken, South Carolina, the hope for a new life begins. Included in the necessary steps to prepare a rescue for their forever home are vaccinations for each dog, necessary medical treatment and preventative care, spay/neuter alteration, socialization, and often, ongoing care at our fully-staffed facility.  Once the dogs are well enough to travel, they ride by van transport or are flown on private volunteer flights, from South Carolina to New Jersey. At our Berkeley Heights headquarters, each dog is bathed, groomed, medically checked, and sent to one of our local foster homes while awaiting adoption. We give hope and purpose to the dogs we save and the families who have been enriched through fostering and adoption. 

Our dogs do not live in a shelter or kennel, but rather in a loving, volunteer home, right up to the point of adoption into their “home for good”.
