Home of Grace for Women Inc

Home of Grace for Women provides a comprehensive alcohol and drug recovery program for females, age 18 and up. This is a twelve-week residential program that embraces all aspects of addiction and recovery, with a strong emphasis placed on the Christian Program.

Our program consists of two phases: Phase One is eight weeks in which the client receives one-on-one counseling, group counseling, coping skills along with audio and video tapes on recovery. Clients attend AA and NA meetings and have an opportunity to prepare for their GED. We provide Christian-based counseling and chapels. All of our clients after being introduced to Christ and the plan of salvation are given the opportunity to be baptized.

In the last four weeks of the program, the client moves into Phase Two. This phase incorporates all the groups, counseling, etc. from Phase One in addition to life skills training, Vocational Rehabilitation through Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, mentoring from volunteers of local churches, parenting skills along with nutrition and health classes.

All these components work together to allow women the opportunity to experience a second chance at a life free from the bondage of addiction. We also have a program for pregnant women suffering from addictions to become substance free prior to the birth of their babies and a graduate program for recovering women.

Over 20,000 women have been assisted by the program to date with an 85% - 90% success rate of these women remaining drug/alcohol free.

 

 

C. Focus and Mission of Home of Grace for Women

 

Our mission and goal is to help addicted women to be reunited with their families (Wives to their Husbands, Mothers to their Children and Daughters to their parents), encourage them to further their education where appropriate, re-enter the work force, and to live a successful Christian life that is chemically free.
