Our mission is to recruit, train, support and mentor foster, biological and adoptive parents so they may provide a safe and nurturing home.

We understand that not everyone can become a foster family, but we believe that everyone can help. All of us working together can make a difference in the lives of our children and in doing so change the face of tomorrow.

Our outreach begins in the Lewiston - Clarkston Valley and extends to Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce Counties in Idaho and to Asotin, Garfield and Whitman Counties in Washington.

This Years Focus: Back to School Drive

Every Year Homes of Hope, puts on a Backpack Drive to give every school age Foster kid in our 8 counties a backpack full of supplies, a new outfit, and a new pair of shoes for the up and coming school year.

Last year Homes of Hope was able to supply 94 children with a Back to School outfit and a school supply stuffed backpack. The national average for back to school supplies last year was around $669.00 according to the National Retail Federation. Homes of Hope has been able to get the supplies, backpack, shoes, and new outfit, for around $250.00 per child.

Some of this came from Sleep Country that has been bought out and no longer will be providing this service and other services to our area. We need your support to make sure we can continue to provide for each one of these kids in care.

Other Projects

  • Relief Care - Known in the Fostering world as Respite, provides short term temporary care for the regular provider. This could be for emergencies, date nights, trainings, or etc.
  • Pillowcase Ministry - Often when a child is removed from their home, they often come with nothing more than the clothes they are wearing. This provides items to get through the initial placement for hygiene, care, and comfort
  • Mentor/Tutor - A child can loose up to 3-6 months of education for every placement move (the average foster child moves 3-6 times during his time in foster care).
  • Scholarships - These provides kids in care with the ability to take part in athletics, music lessons, camps, educational activities, and fun activities. They also help cover the cost of trainings for Foster/Adoptive parents
  • Hope Room - Foster parents can take their foster child and receive free clothes and items they need. The child also receives a new toy, book or stuffed animal that is sure to bring a smile to a hurting child. The foster family can visit the Hope Room up to three times a year to get new sizes and appropriate seasonal clothes. Also provided when available are car seats, matresses, dressers, and more.
  • Appreciation - In May we put on an Appreciation Night for the foster parents. This is all about thanking those who do so much for our communities everyday.
  • Christmas - Every year we send out a gift to all the kids in care in the eight counties.
  • Support Meetings/Trainings - Homes of Hope helps to provide support meetings for foster parents and to find and provide training opportunities for them.
  • Adoption Celebrations - Homes of Hope throws an Adoption Celebration each year to recognize our new families. It also recognizes the hardwork of the Social Workers, Judges, CASA, and others involved.
