Established in 1999, HomeStrong USA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community development organization dedicated to serving our nations veterans. In the past three years, HomeStrong USA has created over 300 affordable housing opportunities for veterans and active duty service members. In addition, HomeStrong has donated 34 mortgage-free homes to veterans accross the nation. 

 

Currently, 77% of veterans own their home and 25% of these veterans do not have adequate savings to pay for housing repairs, according to the Center for Housing Policy. In addition, 21% of California veterans have service-connected disabilities, according to Cornell University's Disability Statistics. Veteran households who are low-income, female-headed or disabled are more likely to face housing cost burden compared to other veteran households. To combat this issue, HomeStrong USA launched its Heroes Home Repair Program in January 2015 with a goal to provide critical home repairs for veteran and active duty homeowners, with a focus on those who have sustained injuries or are disabled. Without HomeStrong USA's assistance, many veterans are unable to make these critical home repairs on their own.

By providing critical home repairs and safety modifications, HomeStrong USA is increasing the quality of life for many veterans and active duty homeowners. Our goal at HomeStrong USA is to make sure that all our nation's veterans and active duty service members are taken care of. Every veteran and active duty service member deserves a safe and healthy home for themeselves and their families.
