The partnership between humans and horses is powerful medicine. After only 8 weeks of equine-assisted therapy a rider begins to make notable progress and a life is changed forever!

Tommy has Cerebral Palsy and is significantly impaired. He has a cortical visual impairment, seizures and other issues making learning new tasks very difficult. At the time he started therapy at Hoofbeats with Heart he was only able to roll. He was so weak he could not maintain a seated position on the horse. Within 4 weeks only one person was required to facilitate the Hippotherapy session and he was sitting on his own. Within 10 weeks from starting Hippotherapy, he began to crawl and can now get where ever he wants to go. With ongoing therapy, it is exciting to consider the possibilities for Tommy and others like him.

From toddlers to seniors Hoofbeats with Heat has deliberately chosen not to limit services based on age or disability, as there is sound evidence that interacting with horses help children and adults with many medical or social backgrounds.
