Hope for Life Fund Inc

Hope for Life Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit
organization that was created to provide support to individuals who have lost loved ones to suicide and/or experiencing thoughts of suicide for the Southern
Maryland Community. 

 I am a survivor of suicide as well as attempted
suicide.  On August 7, 2012 my brother Sean died by suicide.  After this unimaginable loss I felt very lost and alone, no one understood or would discuss suicide- it was taboo. I looked for support groups and outreach
programs, but could not find any in Southern Maryland. 
I became very open on social media about the grief and various emotions that I was feeling. Through social media and various individuals I was able to find others in the community who also experienced similar loss and were looking for a support network.  Hope for Life was founded to help individuals like myself and others have the support that is so desperately needed in the Southern Maryland area.

The rising rate of suicide and attempted suicide
is heartbreaking.  Suicide is the number ten cause of death for all ages, and the number two cause of death for ages 15-24.  For more data, you may visit

Losing a loved one to suicide is nothing to be ashamed of, we need to break the silence, and we need to talk about it. The support groups that Hope for Life will have are not only for survivors of suicide, but also for those struggling with thoughts of suicide as well. 

100% of all funds raised for Hope for Life will go
back into the Southern Maryland Community.  These funds will create more Support Groups, Funeral expenses for families who recently lost a loved one to suicide and can't afford the cost of a funeral, we will donate to those families in need and those needing professional assistance.

My mission and vision for Hope for Life is to create a
youth outreach program “Al’mosta Farm Too” for young children and teens thatsuffer from depression due to bullying, abuse, and abandonment.  This program will be run by adult volunteers who are survivors of suicide and/or
attempted suicide and therapy animals will be utilized.  Animals are amazing creatures that provided emotional and physical support therapy for those individuals who suffer from depression.
