Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission

$89,033 raised by 550 donors

Oftentimes, people in Los Angeles equate homelessness with Skid Row, Hollywood or Santa Monica.  However, there are nearly 7,000 homeless people living on the streets in the San Fernando Valley, and only 850 beds available.
Nearly 41% of the homeless in the Valley are families, and the majority of these are led by single mothers.  Recent estimates state that 1-50 children in the Unites States are homeless.
The 2011 Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) reported homelessness for families in the San Fernando Valley increased 26% in 2011.
