Horizons at Foote is a six-week academic and cultural enrichment program serving low-income New Haven Public School Students. Currently we have Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade classes.  The best part is that all of our students return to Horizons every summer from Kindergarten through the summer after 8th grade and we keep in touch and are a constant resource to them and their families all school year long.  Each summer we add a new kindergarten class.

The program combines literacy, math, science, technology and play with daily swimming at Albertus Magnus College and weekly educational ield trips. Each day, the students enjoy a healthy, freshly preprared breakfast and lunch served family-style. They participate in many activities inlcuding yoga, gymnastics, sports, art, music, gardening and drama.  We also have a open book fair where children pick out at least 3 books per week for their own personal libraries at home.

Our students gain academic skills over the course of the summer and return to their public school ahead of where they were when they left, motivated and ready to learn.  We culitvate a love of learning in our students through project-based learning and providing each child what he or she needs to succeed.

Horizons at Foote is a true and tight-knit community.  Please join us in our efforts to stop summer learning loss and close the achievement gap for low-income children.
