Hospice of Yuma

Hospice of Yuma has provided medical services and support to terminally ill patients and their families in their home environment, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities for the past 31 years.  Hospice care is provided by a skilled team of physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, certified nursing assistants, homemakers, bereavement counselors and volunteers. We educate and empower families to care for their loved ones which allows patients to be able to remain in their homes surrounded by loved ones. Hospice care focuses on comfort for pain and symptom management, rather than cure. Hospice also provides medications and medical equipment to assist patients.   In addition, Hospice of Yuma has a Wig and Prosthetic program which provides wigs for people being treated for cancer, and specialty bras and prosthetics for women who have undergone a mastectomy. Hospice of Yuma also provides bereavement services for families in our community who have lost loved ones and need support in dealing with their grief.

Providing compassionate care for dying patients and supporting their families is a privilege.  Helping them cope with  a terminal Illness, the fear of dying, and the loss of a loved one helps surviving family and friends to continue living.  Being available to assist a cancer patient in trying on a wig and giving them a renewed self-image and hope to continue on with their treatment is life changing.  We provide hope, quality of life and ensure that everyone that receives our services understands that they are loved unconditionally.
