The House of W.O.M.B., Women Overcoming Many Barriers, is a Louisville based nonprofit for women and children in crisis. The founder chose this name because at the age of fifteen, she became pregnant and gave birth to her first daughter. Motherhood at such a young age brought many struggles both personal and financial. She lacked family support, sound guidance, money, and in all, assistance from anyone that could help her succeed in her new role. The pain she endured during this time and the hurdles she managed to overcome helped give birth to her organization House of W.O.M.B. aka H.O.W.

H.O.W. noticed the lack of resources that many women we serve face and decided to do something about it! We are asking that you help us take a stand for the underserved women in our community by supporting our mission. Our mission is to provide a sanctuary where women and children can come to feel loved and supported during their journey. We provide FREE services like case management, personal/life skill training, mentorship, mental wellness support, and resource fairs that help build self sufficient families.

Your contributions will go towards the 50 percent of low income women we serve who do not have reliable transportation to get to and from doctor appointments or any other place designed to help them meet their daily needs. Your contributions will also allow us to purchase furniture for our rooming home in the Parkland neighborhood that will house homeless women that are either homeless or living in unsafe/unstable housing conditions. Last but not least, your contribution will help us provide programming that will transform the stigma around mental health and women will be able to have access to mental health services which will decrease suicide rates, build better families, and community support. Your contributions will help many underserved  women focus on being a great individual  instead worrying about the stress from daily needs not being met.
