OUR MISSION:
HomeStretch guides working homeless families toward permanent housing and lasting stability. Our impact areas are Stable Housing, Stable Employment, Stable Families, and Stable Finances.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN FY19:
- 26 continuous years of supporting homeless families with minor children
- 85% successful program completion rate with transition to permanent housing
- 34 families have a home today
- 23,152 nights of housing provided to homeless families last year
- 63 children had a stable place to call home last year
- 31 townhomes, triplex and duplex apartments owned and operated
- 8-unit low income apartment building owned and operated
- 23 units for Transitional Supportive Program
- 16 units for affordable low-income graduate and community housing
HOW WE DO IT:
- Educate with Life Skills Classes: Families attend mandatory sessions covering financial literacy, employment enhancement, parenting and personal development
- Strengthen with Case Management: Case Managers help families focus and stabilize using a Family Development Plan
- Guide with Mentoring: Trained volunteer mentors work with each family on budgeting and life skills to support and guide them while in the program
- Provide with Housing: Furnished, safe and affordable housing with family-friendly amenities
