All of us at The Hub believe that hope and redemption is always present, in every kind of journey we as humans undertake. We believe that hope is the way through the worst of circumstances, as well as the best, that we as a community must cling to hope, find it in the dark corners, as well as in the light.

We believe that this tight hold on hope is ever more important in an environment engulfed in fear and hate. With your help, we are going to work harder than ever to change the conversation and broaden our hopeful community.

Our story begins nine years ago, when three theater folk, led by Helen Pafumi, brought audiences from across the Washington, DC area to a family show performed in the open air on Lake Anne Plaza. Soon afterwards The Hub staged its first acclaimed production, Craig Wright's The Pavilion, a fanciful and lyric tale of reunion, regret, and forgiveness.

Over eight seasons, The Hub has became more ambitious with each play, emerging as a leader in the Washington, DC area for developing and producing new work, working with acclaimed and emerging playwrights from across the country to spread a message of the magical transformation that comes from hope. We have told stories of Big Foot and Big Love, the challenge of succeeding as a superhero and super mom, finding the language of loss and connection. Along the way, The Hub has been nominated for multiple awards and collaborated with noted playwrights that include Marc Acito, Philip Dawkins, and Christopher Chen.

Please show your support for endless hope by giving now to The Hub. You'll be an important sponsor of our ninth season:

The Magi, a brand new play by Artistic Director Helen Pafumi, a rock 'n roll riff on O Henry's Gift of the Magi.

The Late Wedding by Christopher Chen, a minding bending story linking a foray into marriage customs, a thrilling spy adventure, and a sci-fi romance.

The Happiest Place on Earth by Philip Dawkins, a family quest to reach the magical kingdom (Disney World) for solace and recovery.
