Give BIG 🌱 to Tuition Assistance for Island Families
There are countless health benefits to simply being outside, and when children spend time outside we see even more to the story: social/emotional regulation, a natural draw to co-regulate with nature, sensory integration, support with focus, hand-eye coordination, improved problem-solving skills-- the list goes on and on...
For these abundant reasons, we are always searching for more ways to make our work accessible; including providing a full set of Rain Pants, Winter Coat, and Bogs Boots for each child in our programs. We also fundraise continually for our Tuition Assistance fund, granting families equitable tuition rates based on their income levels and financial circumstances. In order to continue providing Tuition Assistance to every family in need of financial support, we need your partnership.
Please Give BIG to Huckleberry's Tuition Assistance Fund, providing island families with a nature-based learning community for their children. We truly can't do this work without generous donors like you! Give BIG!
Our work with children
Huckleberry provides compassion-centered, nature-immersed early learning programs on Vashon Island, Washington. Our goal is to tap into our students' sense of wonder about the natural world by modeling gratitude and modeling moving through the world with curiosity.
We promote individual empowerment and group bonding, as well as creative flexibility & collaboration skills through open-ended play in a forest & farm environment. We model respect for all living beings and demonstrate how to tend to the earth and its inhabitants with compassion & heart-listening.
Our lesson plans flow organically from what nature presents us with each day, and our teachers tune into the root needs & desires behind behavior in order for children to feel seen, valued, and energetically nourished.
