Humane Coalition for Animals of Greater New Bedford

We need your help to raise money for the benefit of injured, sick, homeless, abandoned and neglected animals!                                                                            

The Coalition for Animals was founded in 1999 by several local animal rescue groups in the New Bedford area that came together under one umbrella, in hopes of being eligible for more grants to benefit local animals.   Since then, we have developed a number of essential programs that benefit our community.

 Our first fundraiser was the Pet Fest and Walk for Animals and has been an annual event ever since.  Each year we make it bigger and better!  Today, over 800 people and their dogs look forward to attending the event and connecting with other animal-loving people, shelters and rescue groups.  People without dogs are also welcome!  This year we will have over 60 vendor booths in addition to the 2 mile walk around beautiful Buttonwood Park.  There will be great prizes for the adult ($500+) and child ($200+) categories who raise the most money, as well as fun center ring entertainment, music, food, contests, raffles, face painting and more!   This year will be the 19th annual event and we are personally inviting YOU to get involved!                                       

100% of all monies raised go directly to fund our various  twelve programs that directly help animals in our community.  Our programs cover topics like spay/neuter assistance, subsidizing the adoption fee for a senior citizen or a veteran, affordable cremation of a beloved pet, medical assistance for shelter animals, and much more!

Help us raise money to continue funding our programs and helping animals!  Registration is $15 per walker, but you can raise more money and compete to win great prizes by creating a fundraising page and sharing it with friends and family so that they can sponsor you for the walk!  Check to see if your employer has a gift matching program to double your pledge. Come to the Pet Fest and Walk for Animals and help the animals in need while having a great time!
