And yet, of the $358 billion given to charities in the U.S. in 2014, less than 1% was given to animal-related causes. At Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV), we want to change the national conversation from “people OR animals” to “people AND animals.” Because when you connect millions of animals with millions of people, you help build a foundation that enriches your entire community.

HSSV is the safety net for animals in Santa Clara County. We rescue from local shelters when they are full, or take in animals when their owners can no longer care for them.  We find homes for nearly 4,700 animals a year, and ~76% of them require extended medical or behavioral care when they come through our doors.
