The Hummelstown Community Arts Studio is a non-profit created to provide artists with regular and ongoing opportunities for practice and engagement with the human figure and still life models in an open studio setting.

I was moved to establish a community arts program after completing a post-baccalaureate program in Philadelphia and returning to the south central region of Pennsylvania.  I looked for a community of artists with which to engage locally and maintain the energy and momentum I found in contact and engagement with other artists.  Finding none, I decided to build one.

The Hummelstown Community Arts Studio's activities are hosted by the Hummelstown Area Historical Society in the 1815 Parish House located at Rosanna Street and North Alley in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania.

We are seeking to raise $3,000.00 to purchase or afford...

nine easels from a locally owned and operated art supply store

three 4 X 8 foot sheets of masonite cut into nine panels for backing supports

a monthly donation to our hosts to defray electricity and water usage costs

a basic liability insurance policy

Itemized cost estimates for our purchase of equipment and a year's operating costs are as follows.

Easels .......................9 X $200.00 equalling $1,800.00 plus $108.00 sales tax

Masonite ................3 X $16.19 equalling  $48.57 plus $2.91 sales tax

Donation ................12 X $25.00 equalling $300.00

Insurance ...............agent quote of $500.00 to $700.00

We thank you in advance for any help you might be able to provide in support of the effort to establish and build a for locus center of gravity for a community of artists to develop and enrich our region.
