100% of your donation is used to supply emergency food pantries with wholesome foods! Hunger Task Force is Milwaukee’s charity, assuring free food for the hungry. This is something our donors understand and they choose to give to Hunger Task Force because they want to help.

Hunger Task Force is Free & Local. The money you donate is used to buy food that will be given free of charge to a network of emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and senior meal programs. These basic needs organizations get your help to those who need it most. Volunteers sort donated food and help deliver it, assuring that your contribution helps a child, a family or a senior right here in Milwaukee.

Hunger Task Force was established in Milwaukee by community leaders in 1974. Our core values include compassion, dignity and stewardship. The food we distribute is wholesome and nutritious, never expired or damaged. The charities we support help the hungry by providing foods that respect the culture, religion, dietary restrictions and household size of the person in need. The work that we share improves the quality of life in Milwaukee.

As an independent food bank, Hunger Task Force has a proud tradition of service to Milwaukee. More than 35,000 people visit a food pantry in Milwaukee each month; 55,000 hot meals are served at area soup kitchens and homeless shelters monthly; 9,100 seniors receive a monthly Stockbox. Our food is garnered through wide-scale food drives including Food For Families and the Letter Carriers Food Drive. Food drives held at the Wisconsin State Fair, Summerfest and ethnic festivals supply food donations that are needed year round. Harley-Davidson, Kohl’s Department Stores, Johnson Controls and Northwestern Mutual choose Hunger Task Force as the leading anti-hunger organization in our community.

Hunger Task Force is an anti-hunger leader with a long tradition of collaboration and creativity. Our most recent initiative saved a 200-acre urban farm from extinction. Now, we grow fresh produce that we deliver to the needy—you guessed it—free of charge!

Hunger Task Force is a well-run nonprofit. Our employees are tenured and they know the community. Our fund development and administrative expenses are kept low at 8%. Our commitment to justice, our transparency and our work ethic reflect the values of our community.

On Match Day your contribution should be dedicated to strengthening Hunger Task Force—your Free & Local food bank.
