I Have a Dream Foundation Inc

     "I Have a Dream" Foundation was established in the Wood River Valley and has started a program at Alturas Elementary School in Hailey, Idaho in 2013. The entire third grade was been "adopted" and every child who graduates from high school has been promised a community college tuition scholarship, which can be used for advanced learning at a college, a community college or a trade school.

The class is now in the 6th grade at Wood River Middle School.

Distinguishing Features of “I Have A Dream”

• The “I Have A Dream” program is a long-term, year-round program that works with the same group of children from their elementary school years through high school and continuing on to advanced education.
• The “I Have A Dream” program is personal.  It offers Dreamers long term relationships with caring adults.
• Being a Dreamer gives them a feeling of identity and a sense of belonging.
• All Dreamers are afforded equal opportunities to achieve and encouraged to do so.
• The “I Have A Dream” program impacts not only the Dreamers, their parents, and siblings, but all students in the school.
• The “I Have A Dream” goal is for all Dreamers to complete high school and have advanced educational opportunities. 

   Because we are a "start-up" our program has no local history, but the history of the many hundreds of "I Have a Dream" programs in the United States is a history of unparalled success, and the lives of many thousands of "Dreamers" have been transformed by this program.

     We are seeking funds to help us with the salary our Project Coordinator and for the special tutuoring and enrichment activities that will be involved in the program. The Project Coordinator is the indispensable staff person in the program who will be on site in the classes with the Dreamers every day, the contact between the Dreamers, their families, and the IHAD Program, and most importantly a mentor to the Dreamers and who will address each Dreamer's individual needs. We expect the Project Coordinator, who will have teaching or counselling experience, will be a long term hire who will be with this group of Dreamers through high school.
