About
Founded in 1954, I Love A Clean San Diego is an environmental nonprofit supporting residents and businesses of San Diego County through youth and adult education, and local action through impactful volunteer events and workshops. As San Diego’s most influential advocate for sustainability, I Love A Clean San Diego’s programs are an environmental catalyst, awakening passion and inspiring action to empower everyone to be leaders in conservation and waste-free living. Our community is passion in action to maintain and improve the health of the home we love.

I Love A Clean San Diego leads and inspires our community to actively conserve and enhance the environment through example, outreach, and local involvement. 

I Love A Clean San Diego Programs 

Education
Each year, our environmental educators foster awareness and inspire action amongst 30,000 San Diegan's and hosts more than 900 workshops and presentations for the public and students in K-12.  Learn more about our educational programs. 

Community Cleanups
Each year our volunteers remove half a million pounds of debris from San Diego's neighborhoods, creeks, canyons, and coastline. Register for an upcoming cleanup. ILACSD hosts two countywide cleanups annually, Creek to Bay and Coastal Cleanup Day. Collectively, these two countywide cleanups have removed nearly 8 million pounds of debris from our communities and the environment. Waste Free
WasteFreeSD.org, our zero waste database and call center, provides residents and businesses with helpful information to reduce, reuse, repair, recycle, and donate items that would otherwise end up in San Diego's overcrowded landfills. . In 2021, the WasteFreeSD hotline and database assisted with more than 39,800 inquiries. Visit WasteFreeSD.org.
