Idaho Dance Theatre Inc

Idaho Dance Theatre's mission is to create and perform contemporary dance that is personal, innovative, and exciting.

To realize this mission, the Idaho Dance Theatre strives to:

• Employ dance artists of the highest caliber and offer a richly diverse repertory of exceptional artistry that inspires hearts and minds;
• Produce performances with a total immersion in the experience of live dance using professional dancers, high production values, and frequent collaborations with a variety of artists; 
• Educate young people through our Education Outreach program by presenting a unique dance performance that educates, engages, and entertains children with a positive dance experience; and
• Function as a community organization dedicated to supporting professionalism, innovation, and artistry in dance.

Activites

Each season Idaho Dance Theatre performs three repertory concerts in the Special Events Center on the campus of Boise State University.  These concerts showcase the work of its artistic director, Marla Hansen, as well as the choreography of talented guest artists. IDT frequently commissions new music and engages live musicians, poets, visual artists, and other collaborators.

IDT provides outreach and educational programs to impact the cultural landscape of our community.  Specifically, Idaho Dance Theatre seeks to cultivate a lasting love and appreciation for dance as an art form through communicating in a non-verbal method.  Teach young people the values required to be a professional dancer:  discipline, skill and technique development, work ethic, and a passion for perfection.  All values that are necessary to achieve success in any life endeavor.
