"Caring for the Caregivers"

The IHCA Foundation promotes careers in long term care by awarding scholarships to those seeking employment in Idaho care facilities.

   * Caregivers work at over 500 facilities throughout Idaho caring for over 8,000 frail seniors and those with disabilities.

   * Caregiving is a noble profession, which requires patience, empathy, and physical & emotional strength.

   * There is not an adequate career ladder available for most caregivers.

   * Most caregivers cannot afford health insurance.

   * Most caregivers lack the qualifications to gain acceptance into nursing school and lack the financial resources for tuition.

Donations to the scholarship funds will be used to award scholarships to CNAs and/or Caregivers pursuing their further education in the Long Term Health Care Industry. 

Other efforts to raise money for the Foundation include cash donation, quarterly gift basket raffles at workshops around the State and a golf tournament in July in Boise, Idaho. If you would like to participate, please contact:
