Established in 1952, the Idaho Public Health Association (IPHA) is the oldest nonprofit organization representing public, private, and consumer health interests in Idaho. The purpose of IPHA is to foster and support improvements in the health and welfare of Idaho citizens and to provide a forum for the expression and dissemination of current health issues, trends, and technologies.

Who we are

IPHA is governed by a Board of Directors, see Board of Directors Page for more information.

What we do

IPHA has organized diverse stakeholders to advocate for important health policies related to air quality, seatbelt use, child care regulations and school nutrition and physical activity.

IPHA initiated a campaign to support and showcase National Public Health Week throughout the state, and recognizes public health professionals with the Governor's Proclamation of Idaho Public Health Day.

The IPHA strategic plan includes work focused on the following priority areas:

  • Strengthen Public Health Practice
  • Build a Public Health Movement
  • Align Organizational Capacity and Infrastructure
