Idaho Veterans Garden Inc

In 2012, the City of Caldwell signed a 20yr lease /donated a 2.9 acres parcel of land . The Idaho Veterans Garden Inc. And its board of directors are the just ambassadors. Together we provide opportunities for growth . We offer Veterans & the Community  a Community garden experience. 

With the help of donations & a All volunteer force, we were able to officially launch the garden in the spring of 2014.  Since that day, we have had a waiting list for our raised beds. We have 38 of them currently. We ask anyone who wishes to participate.    To come  CELEBRATE LIFE, and We try not morn Death here. We ask them to come grow something so beautiful in their bed . That We can learn who that person is/was . Even if we never met them before. We want to see how much they loved their son , daughter or whom it may be they wish to Honor. Through that beautiful expression we can learn who that person was. So we truely will Never Forget that Hero. It’s  a beautiful space that continues to grow daily . Not only do we grow plants and such . We grow inside us all. Great Respect ,Honor, Integrity as well as self worth . Allowing us to be something bigger than our self’s . All our board and managers are 100% volunteer and no one receives  any type wage or incentives. We do it out of love and Hearts for others.  We recently acquired 2 additional acres of land making the Idaho Veterans Garden just under 5 acres now!! 

The garden provides a safe place for both veterans & community members to gather.  We offer gardening in raised beds which are handicap accessible.  We also have a 125’ x 125 community garden. And anyone can come get produce from it . It’s on the first come first serve basis. And at the end of each week . If we have any produce left . We take it to local food pantry/ banks. Last year we we able to serve our community and donate approximately 2500 pounds of fresh organic produce. We recently installed a 34’x 18’ x 14’ Greenhouse so we can provide have year round therapeutic place for those who want or need such a place of peace. 

Our garden has enriched the lives of veterans ,veterans families, as well as those throughout the TreasureValley . We have families as far away as Massachusetts,Pennsylvania, Nebraska Washington and the place it Never Rains…California   We have the  16 Fallen Soldier Families that have Raised planter Boxes now . We started this in hopes to help anyone struggling a place to come to . We promised to always support those who defended us. To continue to serve. We provide a Secure, safe and non judge mental environment.   We provide this garden Free of charge to anyone that wishes to join us. With the help of Caldwell City council, the Mayor, our community and so many other . This is all made possible because of those great donations.  We believe we are doing a good thing. And have recieved to many awards to list from our peers. We appreciate them all. They are nice to get .It gives the feeling that others believe you are on the right track as well. But truly the best feeling comes from the ones that come to us hug us and say with a tear in their eye “ THANK YOU , you saved my life. That’s what this is all about.   Please help us help others we do more for our veterans then the garden. We help them gain employment, food, friendship brotherhood , sisterhood, and any need that might arise. We are making that difference we promised our donors . Every single dollar goes to our veteran’s.  100% to the veteran!!!    We are not saying that we are only ones that do that. But we can say no one can say they give any more than that back to its veterans!!!   Thank you. SALUTE
