SADDLE UP ON MAY 5 IN SUPPORT OF ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION!

To celebrate Idaho Gives 2016 AND promote active transportation, we invite you to join us for a bike ride on May 5 at noon. We will be meeting at the Post Office on Bannock (750 W. Bannock St.) and riding around downtown for approximately 1/2 hour. Feel free to bring signs or wear T-shirts that show your support of active transportation. We hope to see you there!

MAKE YOUR DONATION GO FURTHER

We are eligible to win prizes during Idaho Gives on May 5; there is over $57,000 in the award pool! That means we can do more with your gift in support of active transportation. Here's how you can help us leverage your donation:

  • Donation Booster: donors can turn on this special feature to cover transaction costs associated with the Idaho Gives donation platform
  • Leaderboard: the top 10 nonprofits with the most unique donors in each of 3 categories (small, medium & large) win extra prize money
  • Golden Tickets: hourly random drawings of donations will result in the recipient nonprofit winning an extra $1,000
  • 5x5 Golden Tickets: during 4 special hours of the Golden Ticket drawings, 5 prizes of $500 each will be given to recipient nonprofits (1 in each of 5 regions throughout the state)
  • Donor Appreciation Awards: every 500th donation will be boosted by $250

ABOUT US

Idaho Walk Bike Alliance is Idaho’s only statewide advocacy group promoting safety on our roadways for all non-motorized users.

We represent 350 individuals, organizations, and advocacy groups across our great state. We envision an Idaho known for its safe walking and biking communities.

Idaho communities consistently express a need for more collaboration to achieve our common goals of improving the quality of life of our residents. We are stepping up to this challenge by hosting our first-ever educational summit May 11-13 in Boise, Idaho, at the Boise Centre on the Grove.

Walk Bike Summit 2016 will feature keynote speeches, strategy sessions, mobile tours, walk audits, informational presentations, meet and greets, and a rally at the Statehouse. The Summit begins Wednesday, May 11 at 4:30 p.m. and ends Friday, May 13 at noon.

Guided by the motto "Move Forward," the Summit will bring together advocates, health community leaders, city staff, planners, transportation departments, legislators and other interested citizens in a collaborative effort to better implement non-motorized transportation facilities and policy in communities throughout the state of Idaho.

We hope to educate and inspire advocates from all over Idaho to better effect real change in their communities, whether they are urban or rural, by presenting information attendees can implement quickly and affordably in their towns. Access for cyclists and pedestrians helps create healthy and vibrant communities, and it even helps their bottom lines because non-motorized transportation facilities provide tangible economic benefits. This type of access is just good for business.

More information about the Summit can be found on our website; registration closes Thursday, May 5 at 5 p.m. Community members who donated to us during Idaho Gives 2015 helped us finance this first-ever Walk Bike Summit.

As an organization that cares about your safety, physical activity, health, and wellness, Idaho Gives is an opportunity for you to promote the walking and biking movement.
