Iggies House, Inc A Nia Renee Robertson Foundation

Iggie's House Inc., A Nia Renee Robertson foundation is a 501 c 3 organization created in 2008 in memory of Nia Renee Robertson. Its mission is to provide scholarships to high school and college students; develop leadership skills through mentoring; and promote communication and dialogue among young people of all races and cultures. Iggie's House Inc. serves the community by hosting sessions wherever young people can come together in a safe environment to discuss current issues of the day.

Since 2008 the foundation has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to area students who have gone on to pursue their education at local and state colleges and universities. The foundation provides mentoring and career coaching through local entities and individuals in areas such as accounting, business, entrepreneurship, medical, law and government. Communication and dialogue has been fostered through training of high school students and administrative faculty in conflict resolution, creating understanding and respect of different races and cultures.

Iggie's House, Inc. over the years has partnered with entities such as The Beautiful Foundation on summer programs for at risk girls and has sponsored diversity education with Ursuline Academy forstaff as well as students.

Testimonials

In 2023 Iggie's House hosted a round table discussion between high school students from around the city on the topic " The Intersection of politics ,race and culture " . Scholarships were presented to six. students as a means to help towards college fees.

2020 we were proud to award seven scholarships as we felt the impact of the COVID pandemic impacted many families in the city . Scholarship Recipient spoke with the media and stated "...."
