Ignatian Volunteer Corps San Diego

At IVC we believe that the life experience, wisdom, and skills of senior men and women can transform the world through justice, rooted in Gospel values. 

IVC is a unique organization providing men and women age 50+ with meaningful opportunities to serve and accompany those experiencing poverty and marginalization. IVC also provides membership in a faith-sharing community united by a desire for spiritual development in the tradition of St. Ignatius of Loyola.  Ignatian Volunteers have been serving the San Diego community since 2001. 

Lives are transformed when Ignatian Volunteers are connected to organizations that welcome their talents and experience. Together we address the greatest social needs of our time. Service Corps members become integral to the ability of our partner agencies to address the ever increasing demands in our community. You will find IVC members serving in many key roles with our non-profit partners: elementary math tutor; accountant; middle school librarian; refugee services assistant; high school mentor; and much more!

IVC’s communal and spiritual experiences set it apart from other volunteer opportunities. Transformation occurs for Ignatian Volunteers when they serve others and take time to reflect and share with each other about their service experiences. 

This year our goal is to raise $10,000 through San Diego Gives!! 

If we reach that goal, it will cover all expenses for our Annual Overnight Volunteer Retreat, plus it will sponsor two of our Service Corps Members for the entire 2023-2024 Program Year!
