Ignite Classical School

Ignite Classical School is a private Christian Classical school that makes a rich education available to low and middle income families by providing sliding scale tuition, scholarships and offering transportation. Ignite is unique as a private school in that students receive a Classical education enriched with financial education, weekly service learning, and five foreign languages taught to every student. Additionally, students participate in our Hundred Miles Program which takes students on educational excursions traveling an additional hundred miles each journey. Students and families alike participate in the Hundred Miles Trips. We currently provide a classical PreK education to 3 and 4 year olds in our Little Lights Program and serve children in Kindergarten through 5th grade with a rigorous classical multiage education. Next school year, we will add 2 year olds to our Little Lights Program and additionally serve grades 6 and 7.

We live our mission through daily chapel which includes exposing children to and reading scripture with attention to biblical principles, and integrating scripture into classroom lessons in every subject. Our students have served the community by serving at a local farm that provides fruits and veggies to needy families, honoring local police and fire men and women, creating survival bags for homeless members of our community, support our elderly through Meals on Wheels, delivering Valentines bags of love to patients and employees at three nursing homes and two childrens' hospitals in Shreveport, and even making handmade toys for dogs and cats for World Animal Day. Academically, we are just in our second year and have seen very promising results in our model. 75% of our Kindergarten through 2nd grade students perform at the 50th to 80th percentile on nationwide standardized tests which maps children academically across the nation of similar age and grade. Based on data, we are on track to meet our goal next year of 65% of all students performing at the 50th to 80th percentile.
