Imagination Library of Louisville provides a free monthly book to Louisville children from birth to age five to foster a child’s love of reading and prepare children for kindergarten. We believe that by improving early education in our community, we can contribute to the lifelong success of Jefferson County children.

  • Currently, over 50% of children are not kindergarten ready when they arrive at JCPS. We are seeking to change that by making sure all families have a monthly book to share together from birth to age five.
  • The books are addressed to the child creating an attachment to books at an early age and are theirs to keep to build their personal library.
  • The books are carefully selected each year by a committee of early childhood education experts to ensure families have a new, age appropriate book to read together every month.
  • Books are free to families and we fundraise to cover the cost of the books and shipping which is $1.10 per child per month. That doesn't sound like much but we are currently serving over 16,000 children every month so your gift helps us tremendously.
  • Support us today to ensure all Jefferson County kids continue to have access to high quality books in early childhood. To learn more, visit imaginationlibrarylouisville.org.
