Imago Dei Neighborhood School

Imago Dei means “image of God.” Every one of us bears His image. This truth is at the heart of the education children receive at Imago Dei Neighborhood School. We are committed to bringing learning to life for students and families in Richmond. Imago Dei, established in 2021, serves 120 students in PreK-6th during the 2024-2025 school year.

Our mission, to offer a vibrant, rigorous, and holistic Christian education to families of all ethnicities and income levels in Richmond, offers children and their families:

We envision a diverse community of learners growing together in faith, wisdom, courage, and compassion and make this possible by offering tuition on a sliding scale basis to families. Our school is 32% tuition funded and supporter generosity fuels the reaming 68% of budget needs.

Imago Dei reflects the economic and racial diversity of our city. In 2024-2025 our student body is 33% African American, 36% White, 13% Hispanic, and 17% Bi-racial. It is our joy to make Christian education available for children coming from a wide variety of households: 22% very low income, 41% low income, 19% middle income, and 18% high income.
