We began in 2010 by providing weekly meals to the homeless in Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, and Pomona, CA by driving around and giving them brown bag lunches.  We served over 6,000 meals in the past four years and realized we needed to find a permanent solution to this problem of homelessness.

We teamed up with local agencies and the "Welcome Home" initiative and began collecting items to fully furnish homes for the formerly homeless.  Since October of 2013 we have been able to furnish 8 homes.  We celebrate by having a"Welcome Home" celebration where we bring all the items to the household and welcome them to their new permanent place.

Our newest project is the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Project

We seek to assist individuals and families experiencing a temporary housing crisis by providing financial assistance and other support to either help prevent homelessness or help those experiencing or at-risk of becoming homeless to be quickly re-housed and stabilized.

We have funding to assist a limited number of households each month living on the west end of San Bernardino County who are:

  • Currently residing in their own housing but are at imminent risk of losing their housing and need temporary assistance to remain stably housed; or
  • Currently housed but are at-risk of becoming homeless and need temporary assistance to obtain new stable housing; or
  • Currently homeless or living in temporary housing and need temporary assistance to obtain permanent housing; AND
  • Temporarily lack the financial resources and support networks to maintain or obtain stable housing; AND
  • Can demonstrate an ability to obtain and remain in stable housing after receiving temporary assistance;

Priority will be given to households in situations like those above that live in or are moving to Rancho Cucamonga, CA or Upland, CA.

Households identified for funding assistance may receive:

  • One-time assistance with current or past due rent and/or utilities
  • One-time assistance with moving costs, security deposit and/or utility deposit
  • Short-term partial rent subsidy (up to 3 months)
  • Assistance with other household expenses deemed necessary to achieve housing stability

Those applicants prioritized for possible funding assistance will be scheduled for an interview and be required to provide documentation to support their need for assistance and ability to maintain stable housing after receiving this assistance.

Funding approved for households selected for assistance will be paid directly to the property owner and/or other identified vendors and not to the assisted household.

We currently have more applications than funding, so any funding that is received will go directly to those in need.
