Dear Advocate,  

More than 27,000 Alabama residents live in nursing homes.  Over 3,000 of them woke up this morning hoping this would be the day they could return home.  Many are under age 55.  Independent Living Resources of Greater Birmingham, Inc. advocates so that  people with disabilities can live where they want to live and to have the resources to support their choices.  We have assisted over 100 people transition from nurisng homes to the community, and assisted many more to remain in their homes.  To learn more about everything we do, visit our website at www.ilrgb.org.
