Mission
To promote self-reliance--to augment what is taught in the classroom and the home to develop responsible, resourceful students as they prepare for young adulthood and beyond.
Company Overview
Infinite Family conducts video mentoring of underserved South African youth.
We have mentored 500 students in our short history with NGO partners in communities ravaged by HIV/AIDS. Many are orphans enduring epic challenges. They survive on hope because that’s what they have.
Description
Our efforts support developing self-reliance so that our mentored students can lead better lives in a stronger society. In our model, adults mentor students individually and face-to-face via the Internet. They are role models who teach, discuss, challenge, encourage, befriend and love; they are agents of self-reliance. We have proven over the past five years that distance mentoring of South African students works. It is effective, sustainable, and valuable.
We are in the midst of a transformative period, one in which the numbers of students we can reach is poised to increase exponentially. Respected education partners and hundreds of mentors await their opportunity to help.
Our five-year goal is to open 100 mentoring labs capable of serving 11,000 mentees a year.
