Mission:

IHSD provides excellent comprehensive child development and support services to the highest needs children  0-5 years old and their families in partnership with the community of San Mateo County.

IHSD’s goals are:

Eliminate poverty through the education of children and families: 

• Preparing our children for a lifetime of learning by providing them with the highest quality, research based education for children ages 0-5. 
  
  
• Fostering family resilience through: parent education, parent support groups, parent to parent connection opportunities, community resource and referral distribution, and community partnering.

• Integrating and accommodating children with special needs: Inclusion Matters! 

• Connecting children with dental, vision, and hearing services. 

• Promoting health and well being: providing nutritious meals, educating parents on healthy living, partnering with health clinics and doctors to ensure children are up-to-date on all  health requirements. 

• Engaging parents through: family groups, parent leadership positions, Father Cafe's, Parent-Child activities, and family goal setting.
  

At IHSD, we are committed to providing the highest quality comprehensive early care and education and family services to support the school readiness of each child. Through our child development centers, family child care homes, and home based visiting programs, we offer early care and education and family services that are built upon the needs of the children, families, and communities.
