Ms. L and her daughter were torn apart when the arrived at the US border seeking protection from violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  The ACLU got involved, and when ICDI received a call asking if we could provide housing for Ms. L and her daughter, we  didn't hesitate to say yes.

After a difficult and cruel separation, mom and daughter had an emotional reunion and are together now and doing well.

In our Houses of Hospitality we provide much more than just shelter.  We accompany people as they wait for asylum and offer a supportive community environment that helps people heal, adjust, and connect to language, educational, health, and other services.

Please support our organization so that we can support them.  We rely completely on the generosity of individuals and foundations who believe in the dignity and worth of each person and who want to build bridges and welcome.  We often struggle financially to keep our doors open.  But we are blessed by working on behalf of some of the most interesting and resilient people on the planet.  Please donate today, any amount helps.  Thank you!
