Intermountain Therapy Animals

A nonprofit organization

Intermountain Therapy Animals is a Utah-based 501(c)(3), with three chapters in Utah, providing services for 33  years. Our volunteers (people and their animals) serve in a wide spectrum of settings; hospitals, nursing homes, special education facilities, schools, libraries, psychiatric facilities and detention centers. All services are free of charge to both client and facility.

ITA is one of the largest groups of our kind in the United States, with more than 350 volunteer teams providing animal-assisted therapy and services. We also are the founders of Reading Education Assistance Dogs® (R.E.A.D.®), a literacy support program to improve children's reading skills while fostering the love of books and reading.

Therapy animals open the door, so that healing can begin!
