The San Diego Diplomacy Council’s mission is to create professional, cultural, and educational experiences that connect people and organizations, driving positive changes in themselves, their communities, and the world.
We are a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that delivers programs and services that allow San Diego to connect and participate in the international sphere and extend its influence around the globe. We connect community and business leaders in the San Diego region with their counterparts around the world to address common challenges such as citizen safety, economic opportunity, social justice and environmental sustainability. Leaders from around the globe in a variety of fields are working to address challenges in their communities, cities, regions and countries. Through international professional exchanges in the U.S., they get a chance to share best practices, ideas and forge relationships with counterparts and subject-matter experts across the United States.
The San Diego Diplomacy Council is proud to be a leading organization of professional exchange opportunities that brought 672 international emerging leaders from 145 countries to San Diego, and coordinated 25,358 professional meetings this past year, to share ideas and best practices with local experts in hopes of effecting real change.
In addition to our inbound professional exchange programs, we also offer a Global Leadership Youth Program and other offerings for high school and middle school students, outbound citizen diplomacy trips for San Diegans, protocol training, and local events throughout the year which offer globally-minded individuals a chance to engage with international diplomats and learn about foreign affairs and cultures.
