Island Community Center Inc

OUR MISSION: The Island Community Center strives to provide facilities and programs for all members of the community to enhance their well-being, socially, emotionally, and physically.

A Brief History of the Island Community Center: In some places, we would be called a recreational center or YMCA. In this community, we are called simply the Island Community Center. Here, our senior citizens gather to socialize and play cards; children participate in summer camp and private birthday parties; fitness and hunter's safety classes are taught; and our government is by a term-limited Board of Trustees, consisting of local citizens and one selectman from each town. All are devoted to our mission. Our part-time staff depends on community volunteers to help keep the center open and the programs operating. Through collaboration with community organizations and individuals, we offer a variety of programs and make rental space available for special events to fulfill our mission.
