J.D's Center of Hope

The mission of this (501) (c) (3) nonprofit "is to use every available resource to promote a better standard of life for the residents living in the economically distressed communities of North Lufkin and the surrounding areas of Angelina County." To achieve this mission, J.D's operates six programs that serve clients of various ages to improve their quality of life. These programs serve infants to tots 3 years of age (Tots on the Move), students ages 4 to 18 (After-School Tutorial, Martial Arts, and Summer Camp Programs), and seniors ages 60 and over (Senior Care Program).It also has a pantry that provides free food to community households with persons of all ages who are in need.

The purpose of J.D.'s Center of HOPE is to improve economically disadvantaged community members quality of life by providing them assistance with basic living needs, educational support, rehabilitation services, socialization opportunities, and recreational activities. This assistance is provided through the operation of six programs, which include Tots on the Move, After-School Tutorials, Senior Care, Martial Arts, Summer Camp, and Compassion in Action Food Pantry.
