Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative

JPNSI is a Community Land Trust (CLT) and housing rights organization committed to creating sustainable, democratic, and economically just neighborhoods and communities in New Orleans. Founded in 2008, we've worked to increase the range of affordable housing options available to low and moderate income residents and advocated for housing justice across the city. 

Our mission is to transform unjust housing policies, discriminatory practices, and inequitable development schemes by engaging in strategies that create permanently affordable housing, advance tenant rights, expand housing security, and uphold equitable housing patterns and land use planning. 

The three pillars of our work are: 1) the development of permanently-affordable rental housing; 2) advocacy that increases the supply of quality affordable housing; and 3) community engagement focused on housing needs of low- and moderate-income renters.
