Jason R Flood Memorial

A nonprofit organization

The Jason R Flood Memorial was created as a way for the Flood family to connect with local youth and honor the memory of their son Jason. A Pinkerton Academy graduate, Jason lost his battle with depression and died by suicide on November 20, 2016. He was an honor student, athlete, musician, he was 18.

Our mission as a nonprofit organization is to offer resources, education and outlets for teens, young adults, and parents. We provide a safe place and open forum to learn more about various mental health issues and suicide prevention. By partnering with local mental healthcare providers and organizations we can help build leadership and confidence in our young audience which allows them to speak up and erase the stigma of mental health issues.

Using music as our platform and to share our message the "Pizzastock" trademark was born. These events were put into place to give Jason's friends an opportunity to remember him, while spreading the message that "You Are Not Alone".

The age range of our audience is middle school to young adult. Their professionalism, desire to help and be a part of their community is impressive. Forming new friendships and connections has been an unexpected benefit from these events.

Be the Voice! Stop the Stigma! Ask the questions!
