Jefferson County Library Foundation

Projects include:
- NEW! STEAM toys and activities for preschool and early elementary children;
- multimedia resources to support the library's early childhood learning programs;
- healthy living programs for all ages in partnership with the County Health Department and the municipal public libraries in Crystal City, DeSoto and Festus;
- additional resources to the library's electronic media: e-books, e-audiobooks, e-magazines and downloadable films;
- eCards for every middle school student in the library's service area so students can access the library's research databases and electronic media from school and home.

The Foundation provides support for public Internet access via workstations, technology labs, and wireless service. We fund online database subscriptions to expand patron access to electronic content and services. The library's operating systems are also supported by the Foundation in order to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of patron interactions. The Foundation also offers scholarships and/or tuition reimbursement for library employees pursuing job-related degree programs or certifications. We supply stipends for library employees to participate in local, state, and national professional associations and activities that will increase their effectiveness in serving the needs of the community.
