Every child deserves to be believed, protected, and supported. At the Jefferson Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), we bring hope and healing to children impacted by abuse, while reducing the trauma they face during investigations and the justice process.

Founded in 1991 as Louisiana’s first Children’s Advocacy Center, Jefferson CAC is a nationally accredited, community-based organization serving Jefferson Parish. We bring together law enforcement, prosecutors, child protection, medical, and mental health professionals in one coordinated, child-focused response, so children only have to tell their story once, in a safe and comfortable environment.

Our multidisciplinary team (MDT) works together to ensure abuse is identified, investigated, and addressed with care, consistency, and respect, putting the child’s well-being first at every step.

Our impact:

• More than 9,000 children have received critical services at the Jefferson CAC
• Tens of thousands of children have been empowered through our in-school abuse prevention education trainings
• Thousands of professionals have been trained to recognize, report, respond to and prevent abuse
