Jelly's Place

Right now Jelly's Place is helping hundreds of dogs and cats from our community and Asia by providing rescue, vet care, accepting surrenders, reuniting pets with owners, and preventing these sweet souls from getting "put to sleep" at municipal shelters. We have rescued and rehomed thousands of dogs and cats since 2017. We are also providing free vaccines to community pets, helping homeless and low-income pet guardians with needed supplies, and as funding allows, with routine and urgent vet care for their pets.
Jelly's Place runs on community support and You can help us do our job. We have no government funding. 

The Michelson Saving Pets Challenge runs from  from September 1st at 12pm ET to September 30th at 11:59:59am ET and Jelly's Place is competing to win up to $105,000 in prizes.

Here are some of the ways Jelly's Place has impacted the lives of dogs and cats:

Cara aka Amber is a very sweet girl who found herself pregnant and at risk of euthanasia at a high-kill shelter. Jelly's Place pulled her and found her an amazing foster home where she could safely have her babies. Now that they are all adopted, her foster family is adopting her. A truly happy ending.

Snowy is a very loving cat who developed skin cancer around his left eye from sun exposure. His owner, on a limited income, could not afford the life-saving surgery needed to help Snowy, so Jelly's Place stepped in with help from our supporters. Snowy is recovering from surgery under the care of Jelly's Place while his owner is in the hospital. 

This year 19 dogs were rescued from a hoarding home. Several cats from another. Dogs and cats rescued from a property after their owner passed away. Several dogs, cats, and kittens rescued in the nick of time on their way to the euth room at a high-kill shelter. 

Charisma is a beautiful and sweet black labrador who was found in China missing his paws. Apparently they were cut off to make "paw soup". Thankfully he was rescued and treatment so that he could heal and walk without two of his feet. He was then transported to Jelly's Place where he was adopted into a great home.

Milton was a beautiful golden retriever who was found hungry and emaciated, all alone on a mountainside in China. We believe he either fell off a meat truck or was abandoned at that remote location. He was rescued, sent to Jelly's Place, and then adopted into a great home here in the US where he blossomed to be best friend to the resident horse  and big brother to his new hooman sister.  Milton has since succumbed to cancer after two years of treatment. He is missed.

Delilah the kitten Delilah was badly hurt when she was caught asleep in a car's engine compartment. She was brought to Jelly's Place by her founder, desperate for help. We stepped in and covered the surgery to amputate her leg.

Odin was a tiny kitten who was brought to Jelly's Place with such a bad upper respiratory infection that as a result she lost both her eyes. She was nursed back to health and adopted to a great home. 

Bindi is a super sweet yorkie pup who was being held at a municipal high-skill shelter with a broken leg. Jelly's Place pulled her out and immediately got her surgery. Unfortunately Bindi's injuries were more complex and the leg could not be saved, but we helped her heal and she was adopted as a tripaw into a great home. 

Phoenix and Sabella are two bonded sweethearts who were struggling to survive on the streets of Tijuana with their eight puppies. Jelly's Place worked with local rescuers to bring the family to us, where all puppies were quickly adopted. The parents were spayed and neutered, and then found their home together where they are very happy. 

So many dogs and cats have made their way through our doors and so many people from the community reach out to us when they need help. Jelly's Place accepts owner surrenders and helps low-income pet guardians with education, supplies, and financial assistance when their pets need specialized care (as funding allows). We pull from high kill shelters, and work with partner rescues to help our community.

Jelly's Place is a community nonprofit rescue and no-kill shelter located in San Pablo CA. We rescue, provide veterinary care, and placement for  abandoned, impounded, sick, or injured dogs and cats. We provide community education and assistance to low-income pet owners to keep their pets, and educate the public about the plight of dogs and cats in the meat industry in Asia. We work closely with partner rescues, especially Slaughterhouse Survivors in Harbin China, to save dogs and cats from the meat trade.
