Jeremiah Castille grew up in a dysfunctional home with abuse, domestic violence and alcoholism. His successes in life were a direct result of the mentors that he had; especially the legendary Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. Coach Bryant instilled discipline and leadership into Jeremah's life. Coach Bryant taught him that with at positive attitude, a strong work ethic and integrity; he could do great things.  As a result of Coach Bryant's guidance and Jeremiah's resolve, Jeremiah was selected the MVP in Coach Bryant's last Liberty Bowl game.

For six years, Jeremiah played professional football with Tampa Bay and Denver. As a member of the Denver Broncos, he played in Super Bowl XXII between the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins. Throughout his professional career, Jeremiah knew that his purpose in life was to mentor, coach and encourage at-risk youth.  In 1999, he and his wife, Jean, founded Jeremiah Castille Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The foundation's misson based on Isaiah 61:1-4 is to preach good tidings to the poor, heal the broken hearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, open prison doors to those who are bound and glorify the Lord through preaching. The foundation's vision is to invest, influence, impact and inspire lives so they will rebuild and restore generations.  "Hope Revealed" to the hopeless is the focus of the programs of Jeremiah Castille Foundation.

The acquisition of property in the Woodlawn community of Birmingham in 2005 began the realization of Jeremiah's vision to reach inner-city youth one-on-one for Christ.  The center will serve as the home base for Jeremiah Castille Foundation Community Development Center and provide a Christian environment to challenge inner-city youth to excel to higher heights, provide positive role models in their communities, disciple youth and develop Godly individuals.  A trained staff of men and women of integrity and faith will provide computer training, mentoring, controlled recreational activities, academic counseling, one-on-one tutoring, homework assistance, life-skills training and character education. Building one child at a time to impact generations is our goal.  Your donations and support will help complete renovations of the center and begin our service to the community of Woodlawn.

In addition to youth development and mentoring, Jeremiah Castille Foundation's projects and services include the following:

  • Dunamis, University of Alabama Collegiate Ministry
