$25,000 Goal

December 3rd is #GivingTuesday, 12am to 12am! This year we have a BIG GOAL, but we also have a BIG GOD and AN AMAZING GIVING COMMUNITY here in Northwest Arkansas.  Thank you for helping us sustain our services so that we can serve more individuals!

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and other state-level health organizations, Arkansas has a notable rate of substance use disorder (SUD), with opioids, methamphetamines, and alcohol being the most common substances involved.

  • According to the Arkansas Department of Health, the state saw approximately 500 opioid-related overdose deaths in 2022, with the number likely holding steady or showing slight decreases by 2023.
  • Methamphetamine use remains a significant problem in Arkansas. The state is one of the highest per capita for methamphetamine-related arrests and treatment admissions. According to the Arkansas Department of Human Services (ADHS), methamphetamine remains the primary substance involved in drug-related arrests and treatment programs, with 12-15% of people in substance use treatment in Arkansas reporting methamphetamine as their drug of choice.
  • Alcohol Use Disorder: Data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) indicates that approximately 9% of Arkansas residents aged 12 and older reported heavy alcohol use, which is slightly higher than the national average of 8.5%.

Arkansas faces significant gaps in mental health and substance use treatment availability, particularly in rural areas. This is compounded by financial barriers—even for individuals who are insured, treatment programs may be too costly or inaccessibleArkansas Department of Human Services

Nationally, it's estimated that more than 50% of individuals with substance use disorders do not receive the treatment they need.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to replenish our John Schubert Scholarship Fund, named after John Schubert, who we lost to substance use in our community. This fund provides substance use treatment to the uninsured and underinsured. This fund has allowed us to serve 5 uninsured/underinsured individuals from May 2024 to date! In 2025, we want to be able to serve more individuals to show them that there is hope and a future for them! We believe and have seen proof that recovery is possible.

Substance use treatment impacts the entire community in aspects of reduced substance-related harm, reduced crime and legal costs, health care, workplace productivity, family dynamics, reduction in child welfare involvement, reducing stigma, and community empowerment. Your gift will save a life and help them to reintegrate into society as an individual in recovery.

We are prepared to continue to make a change in our community. Are you? Donate now or spread the good news! We need your support!

Thank you for helping us show others there is hope and a future for our community and the individuals who live in it!
