The Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon & Warren Counties

Although the Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon & Warren (JFedSHAW)has the word “Jewish” in it, it is not a religious organization. Charity Navigator lists Federation as a Public Benefit organization. It defines charities as organizations which protect, improve, and invest in our communities and our country by defending civil rights, conducting research in science and public policy, and promoting philanthropy and social action.

 

Provide Emergency Assistance to Individuals and Families in Need.

Whether it is food, medicine and care for the elderly, career counseling for individuals who have lost their source of income, or a “Hebrew Free Loan”, an emergency loan with 0% interest and a flexible payment plan, the Jewish Federation stands ready to be a safety net for anyone who needs assistance. We will support anyone who asks for help.    

 

Sponsor the Holocaust and Genocide Institute’s Youth Learning Program

Federation sponsors the only program in New Jersey where middle school and high school students throughout the state hear firsthand experiences from survivors of the Holocaust.

Student’s also learn about other genocides occurring throughout the world and learn the dangers of hate.

Fight BDS (Boycott Divest Sanction) on Campus

Support students at local institutions, like Rutgers University and Raritan Valley Community College, who love Israel and fight BDS every day.
